Summary: Wildhollow demo: black screen in DirectX windowed mode Product: Wine Version: 1.3.18 Platform: x86 URL: http://demos.gamersgate.com/8681 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: gyebro69@gmail.com
Created an attachment (id=34159) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=34159) plain terminal output
The game offers both OpenGL and DirectX modes (via command line switches). OpenGL mode works fine both in fullscreen and windowed mode. DirectX mode works only in fullscreen mode.
In DirectX windowed mode the game shows only an empty/black window (while sound is playing and apparently the menu is available because mouse clicks do work but you cant see anything).
To reproduce the problem in the demo: After installation start the demo like that: wine Wildhollow.exe -d -w
Other command line parameters: -f fullscreen mode -w windowed mode -g use OpenGL -d use DirectX
The same problem with Wine-1.0.1, 1.2.3 and so on.
Fedora 14 Nvidia GeForce 250 GTS / driver 270.30

--- Comment #1 from GyB gyebro69@gmail.com 2011-09-02 23:47:52 CDT --- This was the first time I re-tested this bug since I've upgraded to Fedora 15. The result was ambiguous so I decided to close this bug report as invalid.
- F15 is shipped with GCC-4.6.0 20110603 (Red Hat 4.6.0-10). The demo doesn't start (crashes) when Wine was compiled with cflag -O2. This was not the case on F14 and with a former gcc version (4.5.x) - using cflag -O0 the demo starts and the reported problem is not reproducible. - now I can't reproduce the problem with the reported Wine version either (1.3.18).
All these things are beyond my understanding so I'm marking this bug report as INVALID.
