I have only come across this problem running EVE-online. The mouse cursor is not completely filled with black, it contains some stray colors. Many textures are displayed intermixed with other bitmap data, I have even had small portions of video from another app playing where there should be text or smoke texture. I haven't seen any other posts regarding this, and I can't rule out my own hardware. I have experienced this running multiple versions of Ubuntu, currently running Gutsy 64bit and wine 0.9.46, with Nvidia (have tried regressing drivers).

For testing you just need to find a wreck or get a shuttle from the market, assemble and activate it then fly to a planet. Self destruct it and wait 120 seconds. Then you have a wreck in space for about 2 hours.
