Application Name: Mario Forever Download link http://www.softendo.com/game/view/name/MF
Link is broken for me, temporary probably.
After version 1.3.19 all applications in the wine with a similar error.
The only reason for that is a broken wineprefix, or some kind of service that crashes on every start. Could you try with fresh .wine?

This report was made on wine 1.4 rc2.
Tried wine 1.3.26, 1.3.28 and 1.3.36 The result was a crash with error and a similar bug report. Installation of the application runs without errors but when I run it сrash.

--- Comment #7 from Rafal Stanilewicz washuu@eastnews.com.pl 2012-10-24 16:56:22 CDT --- For me, it installs OK. I got the music playing, I can choose window or full screen mode. When I choose full screen mode, the game seem to run OK, and the main rectangular box in the middle seem OK. I can see the menu, and play game.
However, when I choose window mode, the window with rectangular box seem to be stretched outside visible bottom limit, and when I choose "play game" the game crashes after a few seconds, with crash dump. The crashing file is stdrt.exe.
I am using wine 1.5.15 32bit, and Intel video card.

I could say the exact same words using 1.7.15, but I haven't (yet) figured out how to fix keyboard issue.

--- Comment #13 from winetest@luukku.com --- What do you want to do with this bug report? Download points into 2015 (year?) version. There is no sha1sum.
If the game is the same as bug 18099 then it works without issues with the staging keyboard patch unless the game has regressed with wine. I haven't tried recently.

To be more presice the patch that staging has doesn't seem to impact keyboard. It's some kernel32 change.

--- Comment #15 from Rosanne DiMesio dimesio@earthlink.net --- The CNET download link in this bug installs a Super Mario game pack (launcher and 3 games) that seems to be updated every year (current version is 2016-08-12). The Mario Forever it installs looks and behaves the same as the one in the .zip file linked to in bug 18099. I tested both, and there is no crash in either one.
I'm going to mark this fixed.

--- Comment #17 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net --- Hello folks,
it's very important to test the exact version from initial bug report - every time. If you look at the attached backtrace from OP comment #0
--- snip --- 00000024 Mario Forever 5.0.exe 00000025 0 00000026 (D) C:\users\vr\Temp\mrt5cd.tmp\stdrt.exe 0000002b 15 00000029 0 00000028 0 00000027 0 <== --- snip ---
-> 'Mario Forever 5.0'
I've found a snapshot in Internet Archive:
https://web.archive.org/web/20111101054124/http://www.softendo.com/mario_gam...
I could reproduce the crash with Wine 1.4 until today -> Wine 5.5+. Looks like heap corruption in installer engine.
Instead of reopening this one I've created a new ticket 48895 to track this.
