1. Download Gimp installer from http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/gimp-win/GIMP%20%2B%20GTK%2B%20%28s...
2. install gimp
3. start gimp
Actual result: Crash
I remember it didn't crash in the pass, according to http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27285#c1 It didn't crash with wine-1.4-rc1 However, after tried several older version of Wine, I find gimp/miro and some other gtk+ based applications crash all the time, even with wine-1.4-rc1
Could somebody double check?
I tried to cross-compile gtk+ win32 to get a full debugging symbols but failed with some link errors.

--- Comment #2 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2012-04-19 17:05:30 CDT --- Works here in 1.5.2. Is there really no terminal output other than the backtrace? There's a ton of uniscribe fixme's, perhaps try native usp10?

--- Comment #5 from Qian Hong fracting@gmail.com 2012-05-24 16:14:21 CDT --- Hello, I can only reproduce this bug on my host system:
Ubuntu 11.10 3.0.0-19-generic-pae several versions of wine, including wine-1.5.4-336-g91e95e1
sha1sum gimp-2.6.12-i686-setup-2.exe e6421056d7a2cb0c181b3458b37659cb104b65a6 gimp-2.6.12-i686-setup-2.exe
I setup a virtual machine with Ubuntu 11.10, try to keep everything the same with my host system:
- same distribution version - same kernel version - same wine version ( both wine from ppa and custom build wine are tested) - updating both the virtual machine and the host machine to the latest. - comparing every library printed in the "module" session of the backtrace, make sure the one in virtual machine and the one in host has the same md5sum
But I still can't reproduce it on my virtual system. However, it reproduced every time on my host system...
Any ideas? Thanks!

--- Comment #6 from Ma Xiaojun damage3025@gmail.com 2012-05-25 11:02:32 CDT --- After spending hours downloading wine stuff and gimp, I'd say I cannot reproduce your bug.
I have a 32bit Ubuntu 12.04 inside VirtualBox 4.1.14 (Mac OS X) and a 64bit Ubuntu 12.04 on a physical machine.
Both of them have latest wine from PPA installed. $ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa $ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install wine1.5
Both of them use clean WINEPREFIX. $ rm -rf ~/.wine
The gimp version I tested is 2.8. $ openssl sha1 gimp-2.8.0-setup.exe SHA1(gimp-2.8.0-setup.exe)= e75fed214f1c3a45870aad9d028aa76cc886b81b
On both Ubuntu, I can successfully launch gimp and open the about dialog.
I'd say maybe your host OS is somehow broken. Let me try your link of gimp 2.6 also.

--- Comment #7 from Ma Xiaojun damage3025@gmail.com 2012-05-25 11:16:50 CDT --- I just downloaded your link (gimp 2.6) and got same SHA-1.
But I cannot get crash. And I cannot see difference in two Ubuntu systems.
