------- Additional Comments From dank@kegel.com 2005-19-10 11:18 ------- I just ran into this.
I needed mfc40.dll to install something, so I searched for it on Microsoft's site. They provide it as a download to fix a Year 2000 problem: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=cf3005d4-7009-4d2d-... Running it in a dos window fails with a batch file error because start isn't found. Pressing ^C quickly keeps the updater from wiping its files, so you can get mfc40.dll anyway, and see the batch file it was trying to run. And yes, it uses 'start'.
