The log says

Unhandled exception: page fault on write access to 0x7d676000 in 32-bit code
(0xf749e5c1).
Backtrace:
=>0 0xf749e5c1 __GI_memcpy+0x61() in libc.so.6 
  1 0x7d3061ed in libgl.so.1 (+0x2c1ec) 
  2 0x7d2b05d1 in libglapi.so.0 (+0xb5d0)

so it might be opengl-related.  Do other OpenGL programs run well?
What card and driver are you using?

Also, can you confirm the problem happens with the downloadable version

I download (cnet2_HoyleBoardGames2005Setup-dm_exe.exe) from the lick provided.
there was an installer error (Unable to initialize GUI.) when I tried to run
it.

My graphics card is a nVidia GeForce 8800 GTX (Rev a2)

The installed graphics driver is xorg-X11-drv-nouveau ver.

I've installed an opengl game called Critical Mass.  It crashes during startup.
 I get no error messeges.  All that happends is my curser animates for about 15
sec.

I have uninstalled the nouveau driver, rebooted and install the akmod-nvidia
304.32-1.fc17 drivers.  Everthing is working now. : )
