Summary: magic the gathering online v3 doesn't run Product: Wine Version: 0.9.60 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: critical Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: ricardo_barbano@hotmail.com
Created an attachment (id=12557) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=12557) error log
so, when trying to run mtgo v3 i have the attached tracelog.
mtgo v3 is .net dependent so i figure that might be the problem... not sure though.

that was fast :p sry bout the critical ^^
here is the installer: http://mtgoinstaller1.onlinegaming.wizards.com/mtgov3/MTGOIII_Helper.exe
i just ran the installer and everything seemed to go fine. what do you mean by "what version of .net i used"? is that configurable in wine?

ok, dumb me. i thought .net integration already was on wine ... i will test with winetricks 1.0 and 2.0 .net support tomorrow to see if it improves.

ok, i installed .net 2.0 with winetricks, but i get the same errors...
maybe i did something wrong? any extra configuration needed? or is it really a bug?
i'm running ubuntu through vmware, i don't know if that can be a problem in the graphics department.
i'm aplying for app maintainer for mtgo 3.0 and i hope we can work together in getting this to work.

--- Comment #7 from ricardo filipe ricardo_barbano@hotmail.com 2008-04-29 18:34:42 --- so i have made some achievments. i installed .net 1.0 and 2.0 from winetricks and now i get the attached logs when i run renamer.exe or MTGO_NET.exe . they both have the same problem although i can see renamer.exe window open which is awesome.
the problem seems simple: "mscorlib" gives a wrong path for the app to search for files. both .exe are looking for files in my home directory when they should be looking for them in the game directory, i.e. "/home/ricardo/.wine/drive_c/Programas/Wizards of the Coast/Magic Online III" instead of "/home/ricardo/" which is where it searches now.

could you tell me what .net framework you are using? have you done something "special"? it doesn't seem to be a hardware problem because the splash screen is shown, just that path thing...

rm -rf .wine wine MTGOIII_Helper.exe sh winetricks dotnet20 vcrun2005
Worked fine. Ran the updater, then launched the game. Didn't have a login, so didn't test further.
