The level of corruption has changed and a few letters are now shown with lots of space where letters should be.

--- Comment #11 from Sam altogatto@gmail.com --- Tried recreating the screenshots from the original report and tested on wine 1.17.13 with the following results
Font corruption occurs for the "(1)"A Line TMG"" font see screenshot
The following fonts display correctly (see screen shots): (2)"Foxfont" (3)"Foxpro window font" (4)"System font"
I believe this is not a duplicate of Bug #12320 in that bug no text was displayed (Nathan correct me if I am wrong)

Ah, ok - I didn't read the bug carefully enough. So only "A Line TMG" displays incorrectly now?

Yes only "A Line TMG" font displays incorrectly.

--- Comment #18 from Erich Hoover erich.e.hoover@gmail.com --- Created attachment 47700 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=47700 "A Line TMG" font in fontforge
This looks like it might actually be a bug in the font (or in the library for decoding the font), as that font doesn't even show up properly in fontforge... I would say that this is probably not our bug (but it would be a bug in some other project, X11?).

Created attachment 47703 [details] A Line Font - windows 7 font preview
Notice how "T", "i" and "n" look different in that preview? This cross-references well with the characters that fontforge displays, so that looks like they've done something weird in the font. It's possible that they've done something wrong that Windows works around and it's also possible that libfreetype just doesn't properly handle the way those other characters are made. Either way, I'd say this is not our bug. I would recommend trying it with the latest version of libfreetype and if that doesn't fix it then report a bug on their bug tracker ( https://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/?group=freetype ).
