In a very similar way to Bug 25648, IE7 does not navigate to web pages or obey
home page setting.

The workaround in Bug 25648 does not work, although the fix, when it comes, may
be the same (making this bug a duplicate).

I'm sure someone smarter than I knows of an equivalent registry entry to fix
this.

winetricks ie7 gets this to work but there are way to many overrides to work
out what the workaround may be. Winetricks does not add any registry entries.

Installed ie7, without letting it install updates.

After run it doesnt navigate into webpages.

In Wine 8.12 IE7 doesn't get this far. I don't know if anyone would be
interested in me opening new bugs for the IEs though.

Recipe (thanks to Winetricks):

WINEARCH=win32 winetricks winxp
wine iexplore -unregserver
rm "$WINEPREFIX/drive_c/Program Files/Internet Explorer/iexplore.exe"
wine IE7-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exe /quiet

When trying to run IE7 you see Bug 34047 then it exits silently.

A number of workarounds will probably get this working again (see winetricks)
but I won't bother trying if we're not interested in IE as it would likely
create more bug reports.
