I can install the XDrive Desktop, but when I run it, it crashes giving a backtrace before I even login. This particular crash may be related to not having MFC42.DLL. However a similar crash occurs even when MFC42 is added.

I see some msxml error messages, try wget http://kegel.com/wine/winetricks sh winetricks msxml3 For me, this got around an "Visual C++ Runtime Library" error dialog box. This means there's a bug in Wine's msxml; let's say that's the subject of this bug report.
The next problem seems to be http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8549 because it crashes for me with a null pointer access in a program called backupscheduler after not finding IScheduleTask.
Even if we fix those two problems, I kind of doubt xdrive is going to work in wine, it sounds awful systemy.
