Created an attachment (id=27322) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=27322) Application freezed when clicked properties on a regular file and current directory field was editable

- Start Total Commander, go to c:\windows. - Click the blue bar which shows the path to the current directory, notice it becomes an edit box and you can edit the current path. - Right click any regular file, click Properties, notice the application freezes (see screenshot) and a message about a stack overflow shows up in the console, for example:

err:seh:setup_exception_record stack overflow 1568 bytes in thread 0020 eip 7bc3ecde esp 00230d10 stack 0x230000-0x231000-0x330000

Confirming, all the following versions have reported issue: * 0.9.49, 1.1.43-191-g7614656

For me it says ...stack overflow 1632 bytes, but that's probably irrelevant.

Hmmm... quite a lot of bug for Platinum rated application.

First bug is affecting right-click menu. When I right click on the regular file and choose "properties", nothing is happening, nothing is displaying. Also in right-click menu on the third line sometimes I see chinese characters, sometimes blank line.

Second bug is clicking a few times in blue bar which shows the path to the current directory causes it to become an editbox, and in second or third such click application crashes. Terminal says:

err:seh:setup_exception_record stack overflow 1876 bytes in thread 0009 eip 7bc3e40f esp 00230bdc stack 0x230000-0x231000-0x330000

The bugs are not related to current directory, I observe them in c:\windows, c:, and c:\users\ without any difference.

All bugs observed by me in previous post are still visible.

1) Right click on some file - context menu appears. On its third line, it has garbled characters, different each time. If I click "properties" in the last line of context menu, nothing is displayed.

2) Clicking a current path above headings of filelist, allows you to edit current path. Clicking it a third time, causes the whole application to freeze, and then - crash. The same message in console:

err:seh:setup_exception_record stack overflow 1584 bytes in thread 0009 eip 7bc3eeef esp 00230d00 stack 0x230000-0x231000-0x330000

Easy way to reproduce with wine-1.6 and Total Commander 8.01:

Go to z:

This is still valid, I do get stack overflow. wine 1.9.7.

But I noticed wine-staging patch helps here.

You can see the file properties after patching wine with that patch.

Still valid wine 1.9.22 and staging 1.9.21. For file Properties wine-staging has a patch for this file Properties dont show with regular wine.
