Summary: Fading effects not working in Lineage2 and other graphic issues Product: Wine Version: 1.1.10 Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: directx-d3d AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: c_korn@gmx.de
Hello, since wine-1.1.10 there is a regression that the effect in Lineage2 that fades in NPCs when they spawn and fades them out when they are dead does not work. The NPCs suddenly appear or disappear. Also there is the issue that the environment is loaded much later and slower than in wine-1.1.9.
About my system: Ubuntu 8.10 (amd64) NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M NVIDIA 177.82 drivers
I have already run a regression test. This is the result: a2febdd200f7149cff7fe923b7316dcdafca693a is first bad commit commit a2febdd200f7149cff7fe923b7316dcdafca693a Author: Henri Verbeet hverbeet@codeweavers.com Date: Thu Dec 4 17:41:30 2008 +0100
wined3d: Slightly improve drawStridedSlow() performance.
This moves a couple of checks outside of the main drawing loop, since they're not going to change anyway.

--- Comment #1 from Christoph Korn c_korn@gmx.de 2008-12-06 20:22:30 --- I am unable to set the author on CC. Bugzilla says: CC: hverbeet@codeweavers.com did not match anything

--- Comment #2 from Christoph Korn c_korn@gmx.de 2008-12-06 20:24:54 --- As I see the patch is rather huge: http://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/?a=blobdiff;f=dlls/wined3d/drawprim.c;...
Any ideas what I can try to change?

--- Comment #5 from Christoph Korn c_korn@gmx.de 2008-12-07 12:43:15 --- So was this a bug in your commit which gets fixed by this patch? Or is it just some kind of workaround?
What I want to know actually is if this patch will go into the git.
