--- Comment #1 from Alexandre Julliard julliard@winehq.org --- I don't think it would make any sense to crawl the site, and the performance impact would probably be huge.

I don't think it would make any sense to crawl the site, and the performance impact would probably be huge.
Many other bugzillas can be searched via google (which often gives better results than bugzilla's search feature).

--- Comment #3 from Jerome Leclanche adys.wh@gmail.com --- (In reply to Alexandre Julliard from comment #1) You can control Google's crawl rates if they become problematic: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/48620 Realistically though I don't see why performance impact would be high at all. Googlebot is not very eager by default (and other bots can still be blocked separately).
The other problem is that since winehq's own search is google-powered, any search query in there does not return bugs. So if I search, say, "diablo 3 authentication bug" in there I'm never going to get any result (Google would find it without issues - and no, the appdb is not always useful). Now, for whatever reason, winehq/search is not actually working at all for me. But I generally use site:winehq.org queries anyway so I've no idea if that's new.
I'm reopening this because I'd like it to be reconsidered. I don't do open/close wars so if you still say it's a wontfix I'll close.

--- Comment #4 from Ken Sharp imwellcushtymelike@gmail.com --- How hard can it be to change the robots.txt?
As has already been mentioned the GoogleBot queries about three times a minute. Hardly a hammer.
However: Google does already crawl the mail archives so the bugs do show up (if you enter the correct keywords).
And, yup, the AppDB is almost completely useless when bugs are not linked. Apparently this is an incredibly difficult thing to do </sarcasm>.
