--- Comment #2 from Bruno Jesus 00cpxxx@gmail.com 2013-04-28 20:33:13 CDT --- "winetricks corefonts" workaround the issue. Due to that this is possible a duplicate but I could not find the other bug right now.

--- Comment #3 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net --- Hello folks,
confirming, still present.
Installing 'Arial' font family seems to be enough to have UI elements display text.
--- snip --- $ pwd /home/focht/.cache/winetricks/corefonts
$ wine ./arial32.exe --- snip ---
Unfortunately there are several bugs with similar issues (possibly candidates for dupes).

--- Comment #4 from super_man@post.com --- I was hoping that dwrite work would have helped here, but no. Shouldnt the component to be set as fonts?

--- Comment #5 from ajduck@outlook.com --- This is still an issue on Wine 3.4 with FL Studio 12.5. Fortunately the workaround is really simple, which is installing Arial/corefonts with Winetricks.
But there's an even better way to solve this: you can also use any font family you want. Copy the files to c:/windows/fonts and rename them to arial.ttf/arialb.ttf/ariali.ttf/arialbi.ttf for regular/bold/italic/bold&italic (respectively).
This works really nicely if you're on elementary OS for example, doing the above with Open Sans (Open Sans is used as eOS's system font).
It should be noted that FL Studio normally uses Segoe UI and only uses Arial when Segoe UI is not present.

--- Comment #6 from Ken Sharp imwellcushtymelike@gmail.com --- Does this still occur in Wine 9.9 or later?
