[1]+ Exit 5 wine ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Internet\ Explorer/iexplore.exe
You're running it wrong, as winetricks tells you when installing it: To start ie8, use the command wine 'C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore'

Application tried to create a window, but no driver could be loaded. The explorer process failed to start.
Seems suspicious. Does using the X11 driver instead of the Mac driver (see http://wiki.winehq.org/UsefulRegistryKeys) make a difference?
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37421
--- Comment #5 from Simon swdevelop1981@gmail.com --- The crash still happens with X11.
Attached the new log.
Here is export of the key I created (hope I created it correctly):

--- Comment #12 from Simon swdevelop1981@gmail.com --- I'm sad to say I did not check and install 1.7.36 but 1.6.2 and therefore ie8 worked.
Now that I installed 1.7.36 ie8 does not work...

Upgrade winetricks test. I remember that iertuil.dll doesn't need to be set up. If the webpage loads slowly, use winient.dll to builtin.

Updated winetricks to version: 20250102-next Created new wine prefix and installed ie8 with winetricks. IE8 starts without any dll overrides.
After installation i added dll override for wininet.dll I started IE8 and GUI looks like in attached picture. I stopped IE8 and re-started it. After this time page is not loaded.
Console has this error message: GnuTLS error: No or insufficient priorities were set.
Could it be that TLS 1.2 is required?

Normally, GnuTLS error will not be reported.
Execute './configure' in the source code to see if there is a GnuTLS error .
My libgnutls28-dev and libgnutls30 are both versions 3.7.1-5+deb11u3
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37421
--- Comment #27 from Janne janne.kekkonen@gmail.com --- configure did not produce GnuTLS error.
During configure three lines were printed which contained gnutls. These lines were:
checking for gnutls/gnutls.h... yes checking for -lgnutls... libgnutls.so.30 checking for gnutls_cipher_init... yes
Test was performed with wine 10.0 source code.

That's strange. Normally, it should be linked to GnuTLS
