Summary: only low graphic settings available in WoW Product: Wine Version: unspecified Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: skully@gmx.ch
With the latest World of Warcraft Patch 4.0.1 i only have low quality settings available in the graphics section.
Some settings are not selectable cause of missing shader 3.0. See the screenshot for details.
I am using Ubuntu x64 10.04 and tried it with wine 1.2.1 and 1.3.4. Game runs with opengl and a NVIDIA 9600 GT (Ubuntu 10.04 nv driver).
The game itself is running fine but just low settings.

maybe has something to do with "unable to LoadLibrary("d3d11.dll")"

I have the same exact issue.
Debian sid amd64 wine 1.2 Nvidia 9800 GT (Nvidia driver 256.53)
Attached is the terminal output as done via the FAQ, there isn't a whole lot in there. I tried the same using the debug channels from the FAQ and that files ended up being over a GB so not sure what channels to actually use.

--- Comment #6 from Devin Cofer ranguvar@archlinux.us 2010-10-15 16:47:44 CDT --- Another "me too" with Wine 1.3.5 using an NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT.
Perhaps a better bug title would have been "WoW thinks graphics card is not Shader Model 3.0"?

--- Comment #7 from Adam Cornett adam.cornett@gmail.com 2010-10-15 18:56:03 CDT --- I'm running wine-1.3.4-387-g7c47a9d, Ubuntu 10.04 amd64 with an NVIDIA GTS 250 (driver version 195.36.24) and I also have this issue. The attached log file (wow.log) was generated using WINEDEBUG=warn+all,-dsalsa,+graphics,+d3d,+d3d_shader,+d3d_surface

very large file, but greping through reveals: trace:d3d_caps:shader_glsl_get_caps Hardware vertex shader version 3.0 enabled (GLSL) trace:d3d_caps:shader_glsl_get_caps Hardware pixel shader version 3.0 enabled (GLSL) so the card supports shader 3.0, and d3d knows that, but WoW doesn't think so.

--- Comment #10 from Thomas Spear Speeddymon@gmail.com 2010-10-15 19:55:46 CDT --- I also have this. I've got a Win7 x64 install I can test opengl with wow on, but before I reboot, I wanted to verify that nobody else has already tried opengl in wow on windows to verify that this isnt a wow bug.
