Bug ID: 43056 Summary: . Product: Wine Version: 2.8 Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: juanesteban.uribe@hotmail.com Distribution: ---
So, this is weird. I updated mi wine from 2.7 to 2.8 just to play the Starcraft 1.18 patch. The thing is, it's still not opening, and it fucked up my wine tricks program. It doesn't open now, I tried downgrading my wine version, by installing the staging and stable versions, but no changes were made. This is major because it changed my Windows version and the majority of programs that I had with wine are not opening now. Please help.

--- Comment #1 from Fabian Maurer dark.shadow4@web.de --- Please pick a better title next time.
Can you provide logs, what does 'not opening' exactly mean? Do you programs work if you downgrade wine back to 2.7?

--- Comment #2 from juanesteban.uribe@hotmail.com --- No logs are provided anywhere, not even in playonlinux. Again, I can't downgrade, and when I do is like I haven't done anything. The programs do not open if I downgrade the wine version. Not opening means that the programs I attempt to open, well, don't open.

--- Comment #3 from Fabian Maurer dark.shadow4@web.de --- This sounds like there is something wrong with your setup. Do you use playonlinox or vanilla wine? How did you downgrade wine? There is no output when running wine in the commandline?
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43056
--- Comment #4 from juanesteban.uribe@hotmail.com --- Vanilla. I tried downgrading it by downloading the stable version with the terminal, is this wrong?
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43056
--- Comment #5 from Fabian Maurer dark.shadow4@web.de --- If you downgraded it from the repos of your distro, it's fine, I guess. Are all the programs that aren't working anymore in the same wineprefix?
And what is the output if you run wine to try and open one of these programs from the commandline?

--- Comment #9 from Louis Lenders xerox.xerox2000x@gmail.com --- If not a single program runs, this is likely a problem with how you setup wine.
@reporter: As you provided no more info to this bug, it is resolved as invalid for now, but please feel free to reopen this bugreport if you still run into problems.
