Bug ID: 36916 Summary: Command and Conquer Tiberium Wars complains about DirectX Product: Wine Version: 1.7.20 Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: maiktapwagner@aol.com
Hello wine-team,
I just tested the "Command and Conquer 3 - Tiberium Wars" Demo version. AppDB entry is under the following link:
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=7155
The problems that I am having is that it doesn't seem to like my graphics chipset which is an:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82945G/GZ Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02)
I have attached my console output in .txt-format and hope it helps.

err:winediag:AUDDRV_GetAudioEndpoint PulseAudio "default" -22 without handle_underrun. Audio may hang. Please upgrade to alsa_plugins >= 1.0.24
So that's one thing you should do.
I am currently out of ideas. It's reported working on 1.7.22 so you might want to try that.

--- Comment #6 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net --- Hello folks,
resolving here.
Interestingly OP made another appdb test report the day after this report was opened, rated 'silver':
--- quote --- Jul 17 2014 Wine 1.7.22
Additional Comments
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82945G/GZ Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02)
Error message:
Please configure the application to use double buffering (1 back buffer) if possible.
I had to run "regedit" to work around this problem: HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Wine/Direct3D → OffscreenRenderingMode set to backbuffer --- quote ---
The registry setting is not needed. I get the same message with Wine 1.7.45 and the game works fine here.
So something else "magically" fixed it for OP, either Wine 1.7.20 -> 1.7.22 or host graphics drivers update... whatever.
