A friend has exactly the same problem and the same error in console on Ubuntu 9.10, wine 1.1.37 and a 7900GT.
Error log in attachement, thank you again

err:x11settings:X11DRV_ChangeDisplaySettingsEx No matching mode found 960x600x32 @50! (XRandR)
Make sure you have that resolution [960x600] configured in xorg. And that it's listed by 'xrandr' command.

--- Comment #4 from geek-59600@hotmail.fr 2010-02-01 08:52:11 --- I haven't this resolution in the xrandr result ; the nearest is 960x540.
I play in 1024X768, and the game crash with ou without "emulated desktop" .
Can it be a resolution problem ?

--- Comment #5 from lkboss@gmail.com 2010-02-06 04:16:03 --- I'd like to add that these crashes only happen after an update that added a new anti-cheat system, which seems to protect the game from any memory change and it forces a crash if any anomaly would be detected. It most likely sees wine as a debugger, therefore crashing after 1 minute (the system seems to check each minute if it is still up and if any memory changes are detected by sending various check packets to the server).

--- Comment #7 from lkboss@gmail.com 2010-02-14 01:26:07 --- Probably not, but you could try using a native wininet (notice it tries to connect 7 times but the wine wininet is currently stubbed) and/or a native winsock. I'm not particularly sure if either or both will do the trick, but it can't hurt trying.

mmap() failed: Ne peut allouer de la mémoire mmap() failed: Ne peut allouer de la mémoire
mmap is failing, that's probably not good. Pulse running, maybe?

It's trying to use shdocvw, but you don't have gecko installed. This is likely invalid. Please retest in 1.3.32 and install gecko when prompted.

--- Comment #10 from Mr Nobody limited_choice@hotmail.com 2012-01-04 19:31:45 CST --- ...just looking at this with wine-1.3.36 on linux. The *initial* error about not being able to create NetEngine (as reported in the appdb entry), actually occurs immediately after ;
fixme:winsock:WSAIoctl SIO_GET_EXTENSION_FUNCTION_POINTER: unimplemented TransmitFile
..if one spins the knife with winelib overrides between ws2_32/mswsock/wininet dlls, the reported error code '[Error Code(5,127)]' changes.. and in fact starts to match reports of the same error reported with 'real' Windows installations. (one shouldn't do this of course, as user32 will eventually howl, but I was just trying to poke past the NetEngine error .. without success)
..not sure if this pertains to this bug perse, but, reported here none-the-less..

confirming the error message although the client continues to load despite the error.

GetProcAddress() with NULL module handle after failing WSAIoctl() is just result of sloppy code. Upon WSAIoctl() failure it should fall back to 'mswsock.dll' TransmitFile() but the code path loading the library 'mswsock.dll' is not hit before.
