I have installed the 32-bit version of gstreamer-plugins and all required
libraries, and still I can't get the videos to play.

Every time the game tries to play a video, I get a:

fixme:gstreamer:GST_Connect Could not make source filter, are
gstreamer-plugins-* installed for 32 bits?
fixme:system:SystemParametersInfoW Unimplemented action: 51 (SPI_SETFILTERKEYS)

Hey, you just put me in the right way.

I didn't have the 32-bit version totem, so I have installed it and all plugins
(base, good, ugly, bad...).

Now the game freezes when it tries to play the videos.

Videos do play in totem, but they have no audio:

** Message: Missing plugin: gstreamer|0.10|totem|decodificador Windows Media

(decodificador Windows Media Audio 9)

Any ideas?

I got videos working by doing "winetricks wmp9 quartz devenum" and installing
K-lite codec pack (workaround).

Could get the videos to play on Lubuntu 20.04 by installing the following
packages:

gstreamer1.0-libav:i386
 gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad:i386
 gstreamer1.0-plugins-base:i386
 gstreamer1.0-plugins-good:i386
 gstreamer1.0-plugins-ugly:i386
 gstreamer1.0-x:i386
 libgstreamer-plugins-bad1.0-0:i386
 libgstreamer-plugins-base1.0-0:i386
 libgstreamer-plugins-good1.0-0:i386
 libgstreamer1.0-0:i386

I think this is fixed.

I think it makes the most sense to resolve this as INVALID (missing codecs).

I don't think it was just a codec problem.
It used to fail even with all gstreamer stuff installed.

Okay, I didn't see any evidence of that on this bug report. Marking FIXED
