It works here. Did you unmerge existing Wine (I see your prefix thing but it
might be using your old dlls as they are in the search path) ?

emerge unmerge wine
cd /home/user/src/wine 
make distclean 
cvs update -PAd  (done at 15:17 GMT 20051109) 
./configure
make && make depend ; make install 
wine /home/user/qex2setup.exe
