In the Sierra game Caesar3 sound playback is distorted (stuttering) with OSS (FreeBSD impl) and DirectSound acceleration set to Full. When set to Emulation, everything is ok.

I'll try to figure out a setup to record the sound output. It sounds slightly too fast and some bits are being repeated it seems. So it gives the effect of hearing the narrator twice, although it isn't an exact copy.

Yes, but now there's no sound at all when HW acceleration is set to Full. Everything still works when it's set to Emulation.
