Juergen, note that Ove is not working on the Wine tree but on
Transgaming's private WineX tree. Gavriel State has also stated that he
does not intend to give this code to the Wine tree until he gets some
form of payment for it (code exchange or money from a client), so there
is no telling when this code will get into Wine. Judging from the
Direct3D code this may take a couple of years or more.

Thus I would recommend that you proceed anyway.
