Bug ID: 38418 Summary: TLS not working in MyTaxExpress on Ubuntu 15.04 Product: Wine Version: unspecified Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: blocker Priority: P2 Component: secur32 Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: soft@kristal.ca Distribution: ---
Up until Ubuntu Gnome 14.10 I was able to use TLS 1.2 for submitting tax returns in MyTaxExpress. As of version 15.04 with Wine 1.74 I'm getting a TLS error.
For the moment I'm sharing the folder with Win7 in VirtualBox but it's not nearly as convenient as using it in Wine.
I also have an email checker: PopTray which uses SSL and I have no issues with at all.
I tried creating a partition with Ubuntu Mate 15.04 with the same result.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

There is no such Wine version. Do you mean 1.7.4 or 1.7.40?

--- Comment #3 from Christopher soft@kristal.ca --- What terminal output? There's a log, but no information is there that explains the error.
"04/15/15 13:53:55 EFile web service failed."
MyTaxExpress responds with a TLS error in communicating with the government tax department.
As I mentioned, PopTray; another Windows app uses SSL for mail checking and it does so without issue.
I installed Ubuntu Mate 15.04 in previously unused space on my hard disk, installed Wine 1.7.4 (1.6 also has the same issues) and not much else and have the same error.
All versions of Ubuntu 14.10 do not have this problem using 1.7.4. I filed many turns prior to upgrading to the Beta version of Ubuntu Gnome.
If this is a Ubuntu issue, I do not know what package to report as a bug.

1.7.4 is old; upgrade to 1.7.40 and retest in a clean wineprefix.

Could be a problem with the version of GnuTLS shipped with 15.04.

Nothing has been fixed in wine.
