Attempted to insert special symbol into the text and winword crashes every time. I am new to the Linux experiment and am trying to help. let me know if there is anything else you need to know.

Equations work fine in 1.4 and 1.5.0 without any tweaks. 1.2.2 is very old. Back then, Wine needed to use the usp10.dll installed by Office (set it to native, builtin in winecfg) for equations to work. That is no longer necessary. Upgrade.
