--- Comment #2 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2007-12-23 04:46:56 --- Quick mask does seem a bit odd on ps 7. On PS CS1, I can add to the initial selection by drawing outside it, as described in adobe's help for quick mask. But on PS 7, I can't; I can only draw inside the initial selection to change it.
I tried to run PS 7 on Windows to verify this, but I only have a Vista system handy, and PS 7 can't be coaxed into running on Vista.

--- Comment #4 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2007-12-23 05:28:36 --- I just ran CS again under wine, and now I'm pretty sure I just don't know how to use Quick Mask. So I'm going to wait for the original poster to reply to my question...

--- Comment #5 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2007-12-23 19:05:52 --- The original poster now says: "3. Just now I tried the quick mask and it is working in Wine but not in Crossover. (It was not working in Wine yesterday - don't know what's different). The behavior is that I am only able to add to the mask area. I am not able to remove any of the mask area. While working on a quick mask, I am unable to change the brush size as described above [i.e. in bug 10856].
FWIW, I am able to zoom while the quick mask is active."
Hmm. Well, it's working for him today. Let's let this sit for a while to see if it comes back for him, and close it in a week or so if he can't.
