Summary: ISIS Draw atom symbol selector disappears Product: Wine Version: 1.0-rc3 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: blocker Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: mozga@trimen.pl
Created an attachment (id=13732) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=13732) screenshot of ISIS Draw under wine rc3
In ISIS Draw (chemical structure drawing program) there is a tool for assigning atom symbols [the icon with "A" and 3 lines - see attachment]. It shows a small menu-list (here with "COOH") to type symbols. Under RC3 it works properly in the first use only, making the application unusable. It worked OK back under Wine 0.9.16 and 0.9.20.

--- Comment #1 from Vitaliy Margolen vitaliy@kievinfo.com 2008-06-05 17:13:43 --- Not blocker - please read the definition of the severity levels. Can you test with older Wine versions that are not that old? Say wine-0.9.50?

--- Comment #3 from Witek Mozga mozga@trimen.pl 2008-06-06 07:17:01 --- Regarding wine version: I tested several older version (downloaded as slackware package via winehg page). The result is: 0.9.52 is the last version that is OK and 0.9.53 is already affected.
Regarding RegressionTesting: I don`t have that much knowledge and time to do it. I always download wine as slackware package via download page, I don`t compile myself.

Can the program be downloaded anywhere? If so, someone else can run the regression test. Otherwise, we'll need you to do so.

According to wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISIS/Draw ISIS is freeware downloadable after registration (at least it was some time ago).
Luckily several services for amateur chemists allows downloading ISIS Draw: http://chemfan.pg.gda.pl/Oprogramowanie/Program/Draw23.exe or http://www.chemia.px.pl/cgi-bin/archiwum.cgi?typ=B&lok=$k$k$uftp$uoprogr...
In order to run ISIS under wine one needs a DLL file (I guesss it`s MDLCTL32.dll). I copied it from Windows after installing ISIS there. Another important issue is that I had to set Wine to be Windows98 compatible via winecfg to run ISIS properly.

I`ve just tested 1.1.8 and 1.1.9. Both seems to be OK. Looks like the bug is fixed.
