[Bug 3103] New: earth 2160 says it cant find direct 3d acceleration

i tried to install earth 2160 with latest cvs, it worked fine, but when i tired
to start the game i just get this debug message

and a window that says 
"an error occured with initialisation of direct 3d update your video driver or
try -safemode"
( i tried with the flag safemode too but this shows the same window)
