when i try to install webplus x2 the installer fails and tells me to use the
setup.exe which i have and i don't know what to do as my business depends on
this software!

there's no demo its an se based on an older version (10.0) which works its this
specific version that fails

I did find a shareware trial but that installs and with a small settings change
works perfectly but the problems I'm experiencing are unrelated

I have the Webplus X2 CD.
On opening setup.exe with the wine installer, a window appears with "This
action is not supported. Please use Setup.exe to begin installation".
Now if somebody could tell me how to attach the correct files for perusal, I'd
be more than happy to oblige.

Is wine telling me I don't have rpcrt4.dll or that it doesn't work?

Try starting with an empty .wine directory, e.g.
  cd $HOME
  mv .wine .wine.old
Then run the installer.

But "wine start WebPlus X2:/setup.exe" is kind of a freaky command.
Is "WebPlus X2:" a directory, or what?

That log says

wine: cannot find L"C:\windows\system32\WebPlus.exe"

which makes me think you aren't in the directory where the installer
is located.  Either give an absolute path to the installer, or
(usually better) cd to the directory containing the installer
before you run it.

That log says

It's a CD.  Took a little time to figure out what to do with it, (totally new
to this.. Sorry!)
But eventually figured to add a d: drive and assign it to /cdrom

How did you make the debug log?  If you used WINEDEBUG=+relay,
that might be a bit much.  Try WINEDEBUG=+msi.
Also, compress the log with rzip (best) or some other compressor (bzip2 or
gzip).
If it's still too big to attach, upload it to some file transfer site
and past the download info here.

Having a little bit of a problem here:

What does the command "which wine" output? Perhaps you have a locally compiled
installation of Wine that you've forgotten about.

"which wine" now comes up 1.3.11
Still get the same result, but at least I know I've got the latest wine
actually crashing.

The file is 2.6 MB zipped (41MB unzipped and is msi and msidb.

I can't unzip that file here:

I have re-checked the zip file and found no problem reading it.

I have also run'winetricks vcrun6 flash'.

I have tested the tar file as well
Both files download and open with no problem.

All I can do is put as a 41 MB text file into my website:

The app itself fails to start due to wincodecs insufficiency which deserves its
