When you install the game and try to run it it will not save your settings and
will keep giving you errors about not being able to save your settings and to
check your permissions. Linux ownerships/write setting are fine so Wine seems
to be creating a bug somewhere along the lines.

Nothing in the terminal at all.

Creating a folder named "prefs" in the game's own folder fixes the problem so
it looks like Wine isn't creating the folder when the game asks it to (thus it
can't create the prefs file inside it).

Is this still an issue in current (1.1.12 or newer) wine? Have you tested this
on windows to make sure it's not an application bug?

I didn't have such problems in wine-1.1.41...

I also tried to downgrade wine to 1.0.0 and delete the Prefs directory. When i
run the game, this dir was normally created, so no such problem here in 1.0.0
nor in 1.1.41.
