Bug ID: 46527 Summary: delete a file in total commander Product: Wine Version: 4.0-rc7 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: andrej8anubis@gmail.com Distribution: ---
I have up to date linux mint 19.1 cinnamon and winehq-devel 4.0~rc7~bionic, both great, I like it... but, when I delete a file in file manager nemo it gets into the trash. When I delete a file in total commander, a file is not to be found in the trash. Is this a bug? Thank you

--- Comment #2 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net --- Hello Andrej,
I use Total Commander for many years on Linux and this always worked for me. Created a file 'test.txt' and deleted through F8 key:
--- snip --- $ tree --charset=ANSI ~/.local/share/Trash/ /home/focht/.local/share/Trash/ |-- expunged |-- files | `-- test.txt `-- info `-- test.txt.trashinfo
3 directories, 2 files --- snip ---
Works as intended.
Make sure you don't have the following option unchecked which causes permanent deletion immediately:
'Configuration' -> 'Options' -> 'Operation' -> 'Copy/Delete' -> 'F8/Del deletes to recycle bin (Shift=directly)'
$ sha1sum tcmd921ax64.exe 77c69018ee36eb2eac83ea97cddc21145b251cf3 tcmd921ax64.exe
$ du -sh tcmd921ax64.exe 5.0M tcmd921ax64.exe
$ wine --version wine-4.0-139-g699eb8cdba

--- Comment #3 from Andrej andrej8anubis@gmail.com --- Hello
I now put the check into the Configuration -> Options -> Operation -> Copy/Delete -> F8/Del deletes to recycle bin (Shift=directly)
and the files do end up in the trash, but not the directory itself, just the files that were in the directory. If I delete a directory in nemo, that directory shows up in Trash and files in this directory that is in the trash.
thank you

--- Comment #4 from Andrej andrej8anubis@gmail.com --- no wait, I now also put put the check into the Configuration -> Options -> Operation -> Copy/Delete -> use explorer delete method (faster, cannot handle comments)
And it works as it should. Sorry and thank you
