Morrowind crash

I have installed Morrowind (v1.2.0722) and after I click Play game crashes on
unhadled page fault. I have opensuse 11.2 x64 with wine 1.1.42 installed.

If I change to Morrowind directory game runs, but after logo and first
initializing data screen it hangs up, I can move with mouse but can't see game
menu.

Works fine for me in 1.1.42 with an nvidia 9800 gtx+ / 195.36.15 drivers.

Which version of game do you have? I have Game of the Year Edition with two
datadisks Bloodmoon and Tribunal (v1.2.0722).

The GOTY edition DVD (1.2.0722). I didn't install Bloodmoon or Tribunal though
(just did a quick reinstall to check).

In current git (wine-1.3.5-123-gad72ecb), I am able to start Morrowind without
problems. I have the GOTY edition, with some unofficial patches (Patch 1.6.4,
Morrowind code patch 19510).

No update for over 900 days. Is this still and issue in 1.5.31 or higher or is
this  abandoned ?
