Summary: scambled fonts (encoding?) with .NET 2 application Product: Wine Version: 0.9.57. Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: P2 Component: fonts AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: htl10@users.sourceforge.net
Created an attachment (id=11370) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=11370) screenshot
I tried both the as-shipped fonts and copied over Vista's fonts, the result are both scrambled. It seems that .NET uses fonts differently.
This is a spin-off bug I am filing trying to run a specific application.
Screenshot to follow. Some text (in other part of the application, not shown) are not gabbled - also, the tooltip text over this part (the text is just numbers, and when the windows is a bit small, it shows mouse-over tooltips with the same text, which are mostly just numbers and displayed in the mouse-over tooltips correctly.

--- Comment #6 from Hin-Tak Leung htl10@users.sourceforge.net 2009-10-29 15:33:27 --- The characters are shown correctly, *when* they are being shown. With recent wine (1.1.28-ish onwards? need to check wine-devel - I asked about the tahoma font style) the application sometimes simply won't start, complaining 'style regular is available for tahoma font'.

--- Comment #8 from Hin-Tak Leung htl10@users.sourceforge.net 2010-04-30 16:47:24 --- No, I don't have the source of this applcation. In fact the program has been renamed and another 3-4 versions has come out, and later versions don't seem to have this problem or wine has improved a lot that it doesn't matter any more.
