Summary: powerdvd xp Product: Wine Version: 0.9.46. Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: P2 Component: wine-directx-dshow AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: jzimm0007@msn.com
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #8545 +++
I hadpowerdvd gives an error message when attempting to install (about 94%)
I had originally created the bug, because of the error above, now I am getting this: I did not get a setup error in version 0.9.46. (wasn't sure if I should submit a new one for newer version) When I tried to play a dvd, I got The PowerDVD DirectShow Decoder filters have not been installed correctly. I click okay and get a disc with unsupported format in drive d:. Is this an unsupported format, because of the above error? It does seem to work, except for that. I wonder if I can install third party dvd decoder.

--- Comment #3 from Josh Zimmerman jzimm0007@msn.com 2007-10-06 22:18:31 --- Here is a trial version of powerdvd xp. Yeah, I know it is obsolete, but you wouldn't want to buy a new one when you have a decent version already. That is like paying double. http://www.cyberlink.com/multi/download/trials_1_ENU.html

--- Comment #4 from Josh Zimmerman jzimm0007@msn.com 2007-10-11 00:12:40 --- Here is an ISO IMAGE of PowerDVD XP (4.0): You should be able to access it at ftp:208.102.199.157 until it changes. I don't know how to register an ftp site in dyndns. The key is: MV84223N89886730 This came with my dvd-rom drive. I don't know where else you would get it. After you download it please let me know so I can turn of anonymous ftp access. It is about 19.1MB in size. I used K3b to create it. Hope this helps!!

(enhancement to bugzilla, maybe?)

--- Comment #9 from Josh Zimmerman jzimm0007@aol.com 2008-08-01 23:20:22 --- Wine 1.0-1 says the same thing (The directshow decorder features are not installed correctly). I used yum install wine, removed the .wine directory. Setup does not say anything about mfc42.dll any more. I did create a cd-rom drive under winecfg. It was E: and I am using alsa. no theme and default settings. I was using windows xp and direct3d and pixelshader support if supported by hardware was on. I am not sure what to do. I sure hope this gets fixed soon. I thought I read something about directshow filters being implemented in wine in one of the wine weekly news letters. Does the latest version of powerdvd do this? Okay, this has nothing to do with wine, except the download, but I am sorry about the ftp server by the way, I can't deactivate Surgeftp on my machine, because I no longer have fedora 8 installed. I have fedora 9.
