When i try to open the launcher then i get:lol.laucher has encoutered a serious
problem and need to close.

I get the same thing when i launch it too. lol.laucher has encoutered a serious
problem and need to close.

Sounds like a normal launcher problem ... this thing happens even under windows
especially if you try to install older release... try to redownload the game

Running lol.launcher.exe
puts up a splash logo and then hangs for me with
err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x5410c0 "?" wait timed out in
thread 0025, blocked by 002c, retrying (60 sec)
The following bit from the appdb page lets me bypass the hang:

cd $HOME/.wine/drive_c/Games/League\ of\ Legends/RADS/system/ 
wine "rads_user_kernel.exe" run lol_launcher $(ls
../projects/lol_launcher/releases/) LoLLauncher.exe

I getting similar crash or something like that. When  trying to launch league
of legends its opens, but shows black screen and when i pointing mouse to
different spots mouse shows me links wich you can see when launcher starts
normally. I using lubuntu 13.10 and wine version is 1.7.6 on other versions i
getting crashes or launcher dosn't starts. How i can make launcher to start
normal?

Is this really an issue still?

I am trying to close bugs that are not valid anymore. There are bugs open that
have similar issues.

Just like my words.

I had some wine install before and I downloaded LOL using that. Then I abandon
the game and now I returning with newer wine. And it's doing exatly that to me.

I doubt its graphics.

could you try using 32bit prefix on your LOL install? I think someone said it
helps.

Also someone said overriding some dll file would help (info can be found LOL
wine page)

Ok I got this pretty much solved.

I installed new lol.

You don't need to download or override anything.When you run the installer But
1st launch of lol can easily take 2-3min. And you only see the league of
legends logo on screen. I quess it's downloading something background.

I didnt let it upgrade into full game. That would take time.

But I have seen the black retangle issue. It should be solved with overriding
dxcompiler43.

It needs HLSL ascii or something like that (console spams messages).

If the launcher does not crash as said in comment 0, than this is fixed. For
other issues open a new bug (please search for duplicates). If the problem
persist, this can be reopened again.
