Trying to run SC2 Beta on FreeBSD 8.0. The game installs fine, but when starting the launcher and it tries to update, a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime error is thrown, and the launcher fails.

I had a problem with patching before on Ubuntu 9.04, when downloading the patch an error with no text would come up, upon completing the download and installation the downloader would immediately restart. I canceled the download just before the installation and for some reason it worked when I opened it back up.
I also got that error with no text while installing Starcraft 2, using the sources from the git repository. It never prevented the installation to complete, though I had to close the pop-up manually. I noticed that every time this annoying pop-up would come up, the terminal would yield "fixme:shdocvw:WebBrowser_Stop (<a hexadecimal number>)".

This is the real culprit, BlizzardDownloader.exe is crashing behind the scenes of the SC2 launcher, looks like Unhandled exception error

We are on amd64 FreeBSD 8.1, using 32bit wine version. Are you on 32bit FreeBSD?
