--- Comment #3 from Kai Blin blin@gmx.net 2007-08-22 01:52:12 --- First, let me start of by saying that I'm instantly less inclined to look into the bug because I feel a bit cheated by the "confirmed by popular vote" status change. I _thought_ this was a bug a lot of people were interested in, just to see that you simply put all your votes into it. That's not how it's supposed to work.
Looking at your /etc/hosts setup, what IP address does your hostname resolve to? Just attach your /etc/hosts file if you don't know how to get that from reading the file.

--- Comment #4 from Thomas Beimel gnulinux@thomas-beimel.de 2007-08-22 14:21:29 --- Sorry for my 20 votes but I really did not know that I was not supposed to do that. I was 100% sure that bugzilla would restrict my votes if I wasn't supposed to do that. Anyway thanks for help. (Attachment /etc/hosts)

--- Comment #6 from Kai Blin blin@gmx.net 2007-08-22 17:11:06 --- You need to fix /etc/hosts to point to your network IP for your host, not to 127.0.0.2. This is a problem with the way your game does networking, and will break on windows with two network cards.
This is not a Wine bug. I'm closing your bug as invalid. If there is one thing that's Wine's fault there, it's a lack of documentation. I'll see what I can do in that respect.
If there are any other bugs in AoE3 for you, please open a new bug report.

--- Comment #7 from Thomas Beimel gnulinux@thomas-beimel.de 2007-08-23 09:45:10 --- Ye thank you for your response but I do not know the host i.p. because ESO (Ensemble Studios Online) is not a direct connect - to game function it is a lobby with chat home town profile etc. so I have absolutely no idea what to type in /etc/hosts and I do not think that this is the reason because it says "connection to eso failed"
