Bug ID: 43823 Summary: FL Studio: Cannot play wav files Product: Wine Version: 2.16 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: tichit.bryce@gmail.com Distribution: ---
Hello,
I have an issue with wine when I use it on FL Studio (x64), I can't play any of the wav files with the program. I tried many things in order to get it working but I'm no wine expert.
Launching FL Studio in a terminal doesn't give me a lot more information, but it seems like it is a system-wide issue since I tried to play a wav directly with wine (and a windows soft called Gspot) and it doesn't work indeed I've got a "unable to render the audio" issue.
Also if I try to open a media file (mp3 or wav, I did not test other formats) with foobar2000 it doesn't work. Error "Unrecoverable playback error: Audio data format not supported by this device (0x88780064)" while playing a wav file.
Anyone has any clues on how to troubleshoot this issue? I file this as a bug but maybe there is a codec issue or something.
Regards.

--- Comment #1 from ajduck@outlook.com --- Playing wav files through FL Studio is working here. Seeing as you can't play sound files with Gspot and foobar2000, it sounds like it's not a problem with FL Studio itself.
Can you play wav files outside of Wine? What OS are you using? Are you using PulseAudio, or are you using JACK? Try the latest version of winehq-devel (your report says 2.18, the latest version of Wine is 3.4).
Maybe see if you can play wav files on software running through Wine on another OS like Ubuntu/elementary OS/Fedora.

--- Comment #3 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net --- Hello folks,
please retest with recent Wine 6.21+ release.
Since OP didn't bother to tell *which* version of the app it was tested with, guessing based on the report date.
