Summary: Microsoft Streets and Trips 2004 aborts on startup with "incorrect registry settings" Product: Wine Version: CVS/GIT Platform: Other OS/Version: other Status: NEW Keywords: Installer Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: dank@kegel.com
For some reason, three registry settings are being created in user.reg instead of system.reg. If you copy the keys under Software\Microsoft\Automap\11.0 from user.reg to system.reg, the app gets further.
I haven't checked to see whether these keys are in HKLM under Windows, but if they are, this is an installer bug.

--- Comment #1 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2008-03-19 13:01:01 --- Sure enough, on windows, those registry keys are created both in HKLM and HLCU. I'll attach .reg files showing this.

--- Comment #5 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2008-03-19 13:24:04 --- WTF? On my work machine, those registry keys were created just fine on the first run. On the second run, the installer aborted with "CheckMediaSource returned 1603" (though find . -type f | xargs md5sum didn't find any unreadable files). Third run was fine again.
So perhaps the installer is a bit flaky? I'll run it a few more times on my compaq r3000 laptop (the one that had the original problem).

--- Comment #6 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2008-10-17 15:32:13 --- Is this still a problem in current (1.1.6 or newer) wine?

--- Comment #7 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2009-01-19 15:14:31 --- Removing deprecated CVS/GIT version tag. Please retest in current git. If the bug is still present in today's wine, but was not present in some earlier version of wine, please update version field to earliest known version of wine that had the bug. Thanks!
