--- Comment #2 from Roderick Colenbrander thunderbird2k@gmx.net 2008-04-05 04:01:17 --- What type of videocard and which drivers are you using? I guess you are using a non-Nvidia card e.g. an ATI card or something else. The problem is that rendering a small '3d view' (a child window) is not trivial for Wine. It took years to fit it in the current wine driver model. In short we render to a window which we make 'offscreen' using the X Composite extension and then we copy the contents to the real window. Only Nvidia and very recent Intel drivers support it well right now. Other drivers still need to do some catching up in this area. They will as this functionality is also needed for compiz-like effects (especially glxgears on a side of a cube).
If this is the case then the issue is a driver bug as I have the app working fine on my Nvidia card.

--- Comment #4 from Roderick Colenbrander thunderbird2k@gmx.net 2008-04-05 04:16:55 --- I don't know if those drivers are recent or not (never tested this on intel). They are working hard on this though (I believe they now have experimental support for this in DRI2 which is very experimental). The only thing you can do is to report the issue to them or wait.
