Do you mean you can't see the main menu but then it suddenly appears? I have
that game and I don't think I have that issue.

confirming, there is a .wmv file that ought to be played after pressing 'play'
in launcher (first button, invisible text).

I installed Amstream, devenum, quartz and wmp10.
Now all videos play but I can not see them: I have only a black screen, I can
only ear the audio.

Most likely yes, but what was the wine version you tested? Having only
timestamp at comment doesnt really say anything.

Have you tried to use a newer version of Wine? On AppDB we have tested version
2.0 and seems working good (except for any undiscovered extra bug).

tested age 2 hd with Winestaging 2.12, when I launch the game, I get first a
message looking for mods, and then the game menu popups instantly. Don't know
if that suppose to be so or not. But in Staging 2.12 the intro doesn't appear.

Is this about missing .wmv playback? gstreamer should handle that fine, with
the right plugins (in particular you need the libav wrapper). Rather, it
probably needs success from IVMR7WindowlessControl::SetAspectRatioMode().

Faking success (S_OK) for VMR7WindowlessControl_SetAspectRatioMode() and

Those two functions (upstreamed as of 15303e540) actually seem to have been
enough for me. I was testing with Proton, however, so a test with upstream Wine
would be appreciated if anyone has the time.

it works now with mainline, thanks. Fixed by commit

("quartz: Implement IFilterGraph2::RenderEx().").

If it still doesn't play for some people please pay attention to gstreamer
output, specifically to lines "Your GStreamer installation is missing a
plug-in.". Install missing gstreamer plugins as requested (asf, wmv, wma
formats).
