Summary: Supreme Commander: Black bar obscuring screen when fidelity >low Product: Wine Version: 0.9.58. Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: P2 Component: directx-d3d AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: liquitsnake@gmx.net
As soon as the fidelity is set from low to medium, there will be a black bar obscuring half of the screen (terrain textures, to be to the point)
This seems to be somehow related to shadows. Enabling shadows to either low or medium settings results in the black bar shrinking from the upper half of the screen to only obscuring the upper right corner.

Additionally, this worked at some point. Going back to the Wine version it worked for me with (Looking at my own screens in bug 10391, Wine 0.9.48 should do the trick) Well, it doesn't -> Must be some other factor. I reverted to my old graphics driver to no avail. So it's probably me updating the game to the newest version. Could someone who's using an older version try this for me?

--- Comment #2 from haarp liquitsnake@gmx.net 2008-03-23 10:16:25 --- Testing another bug revealed that this bug does not occur when OffscreenRenderingMode is set to fbo. Is this bug still relevant?

--- Comment #3 from haarp liquitsnake@gmx.net 2008-05-24 07:49:54 --- Well, can this still be considered a bug when it's fixed by fbo?
I would recommend making fbo the default Offscreenrenderer. Many games benefit from it and I have yet to encounter any new problems using it.

--- Comment #6 from Jérôme Gardou jerome.gardou@laposte.net 2009-02-18 17:51:18 --- It works for me, with ofscreenrederingmode set to fbo or pbuffer. I did not try the backbuffer method though.

--- Comment #7 from Jérôme Gardou jerome.gardou@laposte.net 2009-02-18 17:57:32 --- It works for me, with ofscreenrenderingmode set to fbo or pbuffer. The backbuffer rendering is still broken.
