Tibia runs, but has a terribly crippled display in DirectX 5.0 mode, giving a bit of information and then a continuous error line. The error log is attached.

--- Comment #2 from Rico kgbricola@web.de 2008-09-06 08:54:52 --- Could you add your system specs and driver versions? Did the game run with an earlier wine version?
I couldn't see anything in the game and only got this output several times: fixme:d3d:IWineD3DSwapChainImpl_Present Unhandled present options 0xafa1fc/(nil) f
My specs: 8800GTS with NVIDIA proprietary driver 173.14.09 kernel 2.6.25.14-108.fc9.x86_64

--- Comment #3 from Michael Reiley blahboybang@gmail.com 2008-09-06 16:45:18 --- The default engine setting for the game is engine 2, which is DirectX 9.0. The setting I am using is engine 0, because it provides slightly more hopeful results. Run the game with the line "wine Tibia.exe engine 0".
The game used to work in very old versions of wine last year, but some major change in the d3d system caused a regression which has been present since.
I have a rather generic and useless Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller. Nevertheless, the game worked a very long time ago. Wine version 1.1.3 provided some good progress, as the game was much worse prior.

--- Comment #4 from Ivan Vučica ivucica@gmail.com 2008-11-29 03:11:17 --- It is interesting that switching DirectDraw to GDI renderer instead of OpenGL renderer makes the game playable with no significant glitches on my part.
Try opening ~/.wine/user.reg and adding this registry key: Software\Wine\Direct3D and setting the member value DirectDrawRenderer to gdi.

--- Comment #5 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2009-05-29 12:18:37 --- Is this still an issue in current (1.1.22 or newer) wine?

--- Comment #6 from Ivan Vučica ivucica@gmail.com 2009-05-29 15:26:13 --- Created an attachment (id=21411) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=21411) Wine 1.1.21 log
I don't have 1.1.22+ installed at the moment, sorry.
However this is a log for 1.1.21. As you can see, the message from the title of the report no longer appears, and in fact the game only has graphical corruption in a few places (for example, battle window) as compared to previously being completely corrupted everywhere.
On the other hand, it is now unbearably slow, both on main menu and in-game. It's especially slow on main menu (giving less than two fps). Obviously, first few errors are given on main menu, remaining are given ingame. They appear once per frame.
Switching to GDI rendering instead of OpenGL rendering for DirectDraw gives quite decent FPS and makes the game actually playable.
