After downloading IPS (Internet Print Service, a software for ordering foto prints from Foto-Quelle) software the installation works fine.
When starting IPS it checks for software updates and updates for the price list. This doesn't work. After a while it aborts with a timeout error message: there is no network-connection.
I have already tried to set my hostname to the local ip in etc/host as described in the wiki, but it doesn't work.

In the meantime I have analysed the network traffic with wireshark a little bit: there seems to be some communication between an internet host and the ips-application, but it doesn't work at all... Under VirtualBox with WinXP it works.

where app.exe is the application you want to run, assuming you cd'ed into the correct folder.

the old version this bug was reported against is no longer available.
The current software "FotoQuelle FotoSoftware 4.x" works fine. It complains about "outdated price list" on first start and successfully downloads new updates from server.
Marking fixed.
