--- Comment #3 from Sebastian Lackner sebastian@fds-team.de --- Good that you found a workaround, but nothing was fixed in Wine. Do you know if it works on Windows without renaming those files? If yes then it is still a valid bug.

I think this bug is caused by the fact that wine doesn't come with Windows Media Player by default. Because .wmv files cannot be opened by quartz or Direct Music.

--- Comment #6 from minion minion.procyk@gmail.com --- I can confirm this game does not crash after changing settings or after starting the game.
There's definitely other issues such as game not really starting (after a muted cutscene with no audio screen remains black), but doesn't crash!

--- Comment #7 from joaopa jeremielapuree@yahoo.fr --- Reported fixed. Can an administrator close this bug as FIXED?

According to comment #6 still troubles occur, maybe wait with resolving until someone else confirms it`s not crashing (????)

--- Comment #9 from joaopa jeremielapuree@yahoo.fr --- The purpose of this bug is the crash. Minion declared crash does not occur anymore. So this bug is fixed following the wine bugzilla policy. Maybe, minion could be interested in opening a new bug report for the remaining issues.

--- Comment #10 from minion minion.procyk@gmail.com --- joaopa is correct. I was just browsing through some tickets to see what can be closed.
The devs are probably already aware dark souls has issues granted the numerous issues posted on proton and they're already working on getting video playback working, so i feel like an extra bug report is really not necessary.
