OriginPro 8.0 crashes at start (with a "program must close, etc." window) with
Ubuntu 10.04. Note it started before Ubuntu upgrade (9.10)

Not yet, but I should, indeed...
Note anyway that it is the same with the 1.1.44 version of WineHQ

No terminal output, just a crash report window and then the program closes or
remains a zombie task (sometime)

Please retest with wine-1.4-rc4. Also try to get a proper backtrace (bt all in
winedbg should help)

Hello folks,

I can't reproduce this, installs and runs fine.
Resolving 'fixed'.

BTW you shouldn't instruct users to do http://wiki.winehq.org/Backtraces in
most cases unless there is actual knowledge what this really means and how to
properly use it (see the result of the "HOWTO" in comment #6).

http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log and optionally a saved backtrace from Wine
crash reporter should be fine.

$ wine --version
wine-1.7.24-14-gd1749b5
