--- Comment #1 from Lei Zhang thestig@google.com 2007-10-29 12:42:58 --- So the problem is that it's full screen, but only using the top left side instead of the whole screen?
Did you do anything to cause the change? Did you upgrade Wine, or your video drivers or ?

--- Comment #5 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2008-02-12 00:06:51 --- All bugs in state FIXED should be closed each time we do a release to mark the fact that the fix is now released. If the bug is somehow not really fixed, the individual bug should be reopened.

--- Comment #10 from javier fernandez jfarroyo82@hotmail.com 2008-06-22 08:53:57 --- i wish to comment a thing about my laptop, where starcraft behaves as i say:
My laptop is a 15,4" widescreen. Windows uses 1280x800 as resolution. Instead, Ubuntu 8.04 uses a non-widescreen resolution (1024x768), but it looks pretty good in the screen.
I post this to find if it could be the reason for the malfunction

--- Comment #11 from javier fernandez jfarroyo82@hotmail.com 2008-08-06 05:41:12 --- still in 1.1.2

Seems like a video card/driver issue to me. 8 BPP not supported maybe?
The screenshot you posted is 1024x768, is that your normal screen resolution?

--- Comment #13 from javier fernandez jfarroyo82@hotmail.com 2008-09-22 13:45:16 --- yes, it is
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10216
--- Comment #14 from Curtis Mackie curtmackevo@gmail.com 2008-09-22 14:16:28 --- I don't think this is a bug, then. Your video card (or X, one of the two) doesn't like something about the change to 640x480x8 video mode, and xrandr (correctly) reports this. This explains why the bug appears for some people and not for others.
A possible workaround would be having Wine check the available graphics modes and choosing the most appropriate one - perhaps 640x480x16 would work, for example. At the very least, we could make Wine draw in the center instead of in one corner, so it's not as annoying.
