Bug ID: 39902 Summary: No form for adding new developers or submitting correction requests Product: WineHQ Apps Database Version: unspecified Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: appdb-unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: jhansonxi@gmail.com Distribution: ---
Other than submitting bugs and emails to appdb@winehq.org (does anyone read these?) there isn't a clean way to add a new developer (without adding a new app) or correct an existing developer entry. I added GETMACS.EXE (https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=17241) for the sole purpose of adding WestDev Ltd. to the AppDB so I could set the correct developer for PCB Artist (https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=6646).

--- Comment #1 from Joerg Schiermeier mywine@schiermeier-it.de --- Is there really a need for adding a developer without an app? I don't see a reason to do so. My recommondation is to set this bug to 'wontfix'.

--- Comment #2 from Jeff D. Hanson jhansonxi@gmail.com --- @Joerg Schiermeier As per my original comment, if the wrong developer is set for an app, and the correct developer doesn't exist in the AppDB, then there is no way to add them without adding a new app to associate them with first.

--- Comment #3 from Rosanne DiMesio dimesio@earthlink.net --- Admins have the ability to add and edit developer entries without adding a new app. If a developer entry needs to be added or edited, file a bug report or post it on the forum. (The latter is the quickest way to get my attention.)
Non-admin users are not and should not be allowed to add developers without a valid test report. The reason is spam: we periodically get people trying to submit bogus entries. By requiring a valid test report, these are easily spotted and rejected.

--- Comment #4 from Joerg Schiermeier mywine@schiermeier-it.de --- Hi Rosanne,
to make things easy:
Could you help Jeff and correct his faulty entry here in AppDB if possible?

--- Comment #5 from Rosanne DiMesio dimesio@earthlink.net --- There's nothing to correct. Jeff submitted the new developer by submitting a new application from that developer. Once it was on the list, as maintainer he was able to select it.

--- Comment #6 from Joerg Schiermeier mywine@schiermeier-it.de --- OK. Thanks to Rosanne for her complete clarification. -last action here-
