The app has an installer, which does fine, but after the install, on launch,
not even the initial screen appears, just an error dialog.

Playonlinux is not supported in this bugzilla. Please try with vanilla
wine-5.10, otherwise this bug will be closed as invalid.
Futhermore, the tested version of wine is very old (wine-3.6).

If the bug still occurs with wine-5.10, please give the name of the application
and check if there is a freely downloadable version of the software.
