Backtrace

Whenever I try to perform some action on a word like look up in the dictionary
or use highligher or anything else, it immediately crashes after I highlight
with my cursor. So, I can't lookup a word or other tasks without highlighting
it with my cursor.

Can't reproduce in 1.7.14.

Your Wine version is old; upgrade.

Did you install it again in a fresh WINEPREFIX?

I might not have installed it in a fresh WINEPREFIX. How do I find out if I did
or not?

As far as I know, it's available for download but it's not free. It's the PC
version for Kindle.

A fresh wineprefix is one where nothing has been installed yet, so if your
second backtrace is from the same wineprefix you were using before, it's not
fresh. Either delete it or (if you have other apps installed there that you
want to keep) install Kindle for PC to a separate, 32 bit wineprefix.

Backtrace from a fresh install that crashes on word actions

This is from a fresh install of Kindle 1.10.x on Linux Mint 16 x64. Just
installed today, was downloading the dictionary, and it started this behaviour
just as the dictionary was finishing its download. Was working normally until
that time. Continues to work *unless* I try to select any text. . .

I am getting what looks like the same issue with the latest version of the
Kindle reader app. It started when I was downloading the dictionary, and
continues even now. I have a recent OS (Linux Mint 16 Cinnamon (x64), and the
latest version of the reader (downloaded and installed today).

Hello folks,

dictionary download and lookup works perfectly here.

The attached backtraces indicate this is an exact dupe of bug 29045
('winetricks -q corefonts').

Additionally the attachment also shows you are still running outdated,
unsupported versions of Wine.
I'm not sure, but what part of "Your Wine version is old; upgrade." (comment
#1) is unclear?
